Following a career in mechanical engineering, Chris studied Environmental Sciences before taking up a position with GEC as an Environmental and Safety Engineer. The environmental aspect of his work at GEC led to an interest in acoustics and he moved from engineering into the field of professional acoustics.

In 2005 Chris joined the Sharps Redmore Partnership as part of the Building Acoustics team providing detailed design advice for commercial and residential buildings.

Project development forms a large part of Chris’ work where his involvement begins with initial design work, through to environmental noise assessments, pre-planning applications, design detailing for building shell and internal structures and finally to commissioning testing and UKAS Accredited Sound Insulation Testing.

Major projects in Chris’ portfolio include Ashburton Gate, Highbury, a residential development of 240 units adjacent to the Arsenal Emirates Football Stadium, Packington Estate regeneration in Islington, several new PCT Health Centres in Lambeth and Southwark, Care Homes for the Elderly in London, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, new educational Academies for the DfES in London, Sussex and Berkshire and design detailing and commissioning testing for hotels across the UK. Other more specialist projects include internal noise control schemes and sound insulation detailing for a number of high end properties in Chelsea, investigation of internal noise problems in Offices and Apartments and analysis of reverberation times for internal acoustic environments in Community Halls and similar venues.

Chris has a Degree in Environmental Science as well as being a Member of the Institute of Acoustics and is Accredited for UKAS Sound Insulation Testing.
