After obtaining an upper second class degree in environmental science from the University
of Wolverhampton, Kieran worked for three years as a Noise Officer with a Local Authority
in Kent. He dealt mainly with noise nuisance cases, involving direct enforcement action and
court hearings. It was during this time that he obtained the Diploma in Acoustics and Noise
Control, from Colchester Institute. He was awarded a national prize for his project on
high-speed railway noise and presented a paper on the subject to the “Acoustics 2000”
conference in Liverpool. He has been a member of the Institute of Acoustics since 1999 and
has more recently published further papers, mostly on environmental noise and mixed urban
residential development. Kieran specialises mainly in environmental noise and has significant experience in planning noise issues, noise nuisance law, railway and road traffic noise assessment and construction site noise. He is a member of the Insitution of Environmental Sciences and an Associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. A large proportion of Kieran’s consultancy work is in the production of Environmental Statements, and provision of expert evidence to Court, Planning Appeals and Public Inquiries. Kieran was appointed as a Director in 2008 and is part of an experienced team of consultants in the environmental noise sector. |
