Tom studied Geography at the University of Glasgow, with an honours focus on sustainable energy in the built environment. He is currently studying for the Institute of Acoustics Diploma (2016/17)
Tom 'enjoyed' bartending his way through sixth form and university, a fairly long stint in hospitality which taught him a lot about the Great British pysche. He has also enjoyed more recent part-time work on live events through a nationwide technical and stage crewing agency, crewing events including the 2014 Commonwealth Games and MTV EMA Awards.
Tom joined Sharps Redmore enthusiastic about gaining experience in all aspects of acoustics. He has since been involved in environmental noise surveys all over the UK and UKAS accredited sound insulation testing, mainly based on large residential developments in London. He has also been started on more detailed consultant work taking particular interest in building design work and getting to grips with local authorities and the planning system.
Outside of work Tom will be playing guitar or getting involved in DIY music stuff. He loves getting home to Belfast / Glasgow or relaxing in various European cities and has just started distance running so can be found suffering up and down the byways of Suffolk.
