Alison Longstaff, BEng(Hons). MIOA.
Alison Longstaff has been involved in the field of acoustic consultancy since obtaining her honours degree in Engineering Acoustics and Vibration, from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), at the University of Southampton, in 1991. Alison joined Sharps Redmore Partnership in 1997 from another acoustic consultancy where she had been a consultant since graduating from University. Alison specialises in environmental noise assessment, particularly involving commercial and retail development, but also of proposed residential and industrial schemes. Aircraft noise, particularly in terms of plotting noise contours and advising on sound insulation of buildings, is also an area of specialisation. She is also one of the company’s principle users of the computer noise modeling package SoundPLAN.
