Catherine Day, BSc. MIOA.
Catherine’s background is in mechanical engineering, and later computer systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. A return to college after a career break with children resulted in a Diploma in Acoustics from Colchester Institute. She has worked for acoustics consultancies locally for 14 years before joining Sharps Redmore in summer 2006. Catherine has experience of a wide range of building acoustics and vibration in relation to schools, hospitals, theatres and a range of commercial buildings. She specialises in high-density residential schemes, both new-build and refurbishment, from inception to post-occupation, via planning inquiries, resolution of planning conditions, building design work, site inspection and so on. Her main interest is in providing practical, pragmatic, timely advice to address real problems.
