Keith Metcalfe, BSc(Hons). MIOA.
Keith Metcalfe specialises in environmental noise projects and has extensive experience in the assessment of noise associated with retail developments. He also has significant experience in the assessment of construction noise. Keith rejoined the company in 2004, having spent the previous 6 years working for Arup Acoustics. During the majority of his time with Arup Acoustics he was seconded to the Noise and Vibration team at Rail Link Engineering, project managers responsible for delivering the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project. His role dealt with both construction noise and operational railway noise prediction and direct consultation with civil engineering contractors and Local Authorities regarding general construction noise issues, including obtaining prior consent for construction works under Section 61 of the Control of Pollution Act. Keith has undertaken written noise assessments, and has prepared expert evidence for planning appeals and public inquiries, for numerous retail development projects. He has also provided advice in cases of statutory noise nuisance associated with retail development. Keith obtained a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control, from Colchester Institute during the industrial placement year of his Environmental Studies degree from the University of Hertfordshire. Keith has been a member of the Institute of Acoustics since 1997.
