Emily studied BSc Geography at Keele University. Emily successfully completed the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Certificate of Competence in Environmental Noise Measurements in June 2016, and the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control at London South Bank University in September 2017.
Work history
Emily’s first jobs included being a stable girl at her local riding school and delivering 150 newspapers each week in her local area. Whilst at university, Emily became a student ambassador, showing around prospective students on open days and she also became heavily involved in the media and marketing department. After university, she spent a short stint as a customer service assistant in a supermarket, before joining Sharps Redmore in 2015.
Work experience
Emily became interested in a career in acoustics after completing her final year dissertation on tranquillity and attitudes to noise in a popular countryside beauty spot in the Upper Derwent Valley, Derbyshire. She is a determined individual who is keen to learn about all aspects of acoustics. Emily has been involved in a wide range of small and medium sized projects since she joined in 2015 including, education facilities, office developments, hotels, and residential new builds and refurbishments.

Emily learnt to ride and care for horses at a young age. She shares a mare in the local area. Her other hobbies include hiking, cooking, and travelling.
