Education
Sam studied Minerals Industry Environmental Engineering at the University of Leeds and then whilst working in the industry went on to obtain the IOA Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
Work History
After graduating from university in 1999, Sam worked as a postman and part-time labourer before moving back to Leeds to work for White Young Green. Primarily brought in to assist with the production of EIA’s, other roles initially included working on geo-environmental and landscape & visual assessments before focusing on acoustics in the early 2000’s. After working through the ranks to lead the WYG Leeds noise team for a number of years, a new challenge beckoned and he joined Sharps Redmore in mid-2020.
Work Experience
Sam has worked on a broad spectrum of projects with significant experience in residential , commercial and industrial developments where he’s provided advice to clients at all stages of the development life cycle from due diligence assessments through to when buildings are occupied. Additional experience includes undertaking assessments for minerals, renewables and transportation projects amongst other types of developments. Taking pride in collaborating effectively with other design team members and clients, Sam has been involved in projects large and small across the UK.
Plus
Sam’s early years were largely spent playing tennis peaking a little too early when he reached the national short tennis finals aged 8. He’s also enjoyed playing various sports with his pedigree at football similar to that of his club, Port Vale. More recently Sam enjoys cooking, spending time with his family and his new hobby running (slowly).
