Education
Keith studied Environmental Studies at The University of Hertfordshire, graduating in 1996. Keith undertook the Institute of Acoustics Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control during his sandwich year.
Work history
Keith first joined Sharps Redmore Partnership as a technician and graduate in 1996. In 1997 Keith joined Arup Acoustics where he stayed for seven years; the majority of his time at Arup was spent on secondment to Rail Link Engineering, the project managers to the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project, working within the in-house acoustics team.
In 2004 Keith re-joined Sharps Redmore as a consultant and was appointed as a Director in January 2016.
Work experience
Keith has worked on a wide range of environmental acoustic projects from small residential schemes to large mixed use developments. He has recently commenced work with the Sharps Redmore team working on the Environmental Statement for the proposed Sizewell C Nuclear Power station, providing guidance in relation to construction noise.
Keith’s main specialism is the assessment of noise associated with retail developments. He has a detailed understanding of retail noise sources, their characteristics and associated noise reduction methods. Keith has given technical evidence at a large number of planning appeals for retail developments, working with the top Environmental Planning Barristers.
Plus
Keith is a husband and father of four and so comes to work for a break! He enjoys both playing and watching sport. His passion for playing cricket now takes a back seat as being a father becomes ever more demanding and time consuming, coupled with his advancing years and a body which is falling apart at the seams. He still manages to captain the Sharps Redmore cricket team in the annual cricket challenge cup.
