Education
Mark attended the Colchester Institute where he obtained his IOA Diploma in 1990.
Work history
Mark joined Flakt Woods Limited (formerly Woods Air Movement Limited) in 1984 as an engineering apprentice. His early interest in acoustics was gained whilst working for Flakt Woods in the Acoustics Department, where he was Senior Acoustic Design Engineer, focusing on the noise control of air movement equipment. More recently Mark has worked for a major acoustic equipment manufacturer, IAC Ltd, where he gained further experience within the building services industry, and developed his knowledge of noise control engineering with respect to power generation, in particular gas turbines. Mark joined Sharps Redmore as a consultant in 2005.
Work experience
Mark now specialises in environmental noise modelling, and the noise control engineering of mechanical services and power generation plant, generally in the commercial and industrial sectors, and has experience in planning noise issues. Mark has a wealth of experience in mechanical services noise and has undertaken noise assessments and advised on noise control for hundreds of mechanical services installations across various market sectors, including industrial, power generation, commercial and residential. Mark is experienced at working closely with the design team (client, architect, consultants from other disciplines) to create specifications for noise control measures to meet the necessary acoustic requirements, and works with contractors to ensure compliance with the specifications set, and advice of any additional mitigation requirements during the development.
